1087 - Olde New Orleans Block Ice ShaverThe "Olde New Orleans" Block Ice Shaver is one of the most powerful ice shavers in the world!
This unit features a 3/4 HP motor, a "V Belt" pulley to reduce the motor speed down to about 350 RPM, and a large three-blade shaver head to plane snow off of the larger block and deliver it from the chute at the lower right-hand corner of the shaver.
Gold Medal has manufactured this machine to be operated with ease simply place a 6 – 12 pound block of clear ice into the block ice compartment. (Don't fret the front door has a safety switch to protect the operator so the machine doesn't run until the cast aluminum door is safely locked into the closed position). The heavy-duty lever on the left hand side allows the operator to ratchet the handle to apply pressure. The more pressure that is applied the coarser the ice will be, the lighter the pressure applied the finer the ice will be, almost snow like.
Make and store your own blocks of ice using the # 1487 Steel Ice Mold, with the # 1488 Ice Mold bags, then store them in your freezer so you never run out of blocks of ice!
